Summary

  1. 1.

Standard heats of formation of ammonium iodate and sodium bromate were determined by the calorimetric method: NH4IO3 (crystalline), ΔH298=−94.0±0.2 kcal/mole; NaBrO3 (crystalline), ΔH298=−76.8 ±±0.5 kcal/mole.

  2. 2.

The unknown heats of formation of various ammonium salts (halates and others) for which experimental investigation is difficult were calculated by the method of constant differences.
