Synthesis and properties of certain photostabilizers in the 2,4-dihydroxybenzophenone series

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    A method of synthesis of esters of 3-hydroxy-4-benzoylphenoxyacetic acid is suggested.

  2. 2.

    A series of compounds are synthesized which effectively absorb UV light.

  3. 3.

    The compounds obtained show practically no antagonism in their combined use with antioxidants for the stabilization of polypropylene.
