Polarography of N-benzoyllactams

  • 13 Accesses

  1. 1.

The influence of pH, temperature, and concentration of alcohol and indifferent electrolyte in solution upon the polarographic reduction of N-benzoyllactams was investigated.

  2. 2.

N-Benzoyllactams are irreversibly reduced, with the addition of two electrons.

  3. 3.

At the potentials of the desorption peak, the wave on the differential capacitance curve acquires a kinetic character, and its limiting current passes through a maximum.

  4. 4.

The cyclol form of N-salicyloyllactams is polarographically inactive under our conditions.
