Conclusions

Reduction of O,O-dialkyl-1-hydroxy-2-nitroisopropylphosphonates has yielded the corresponding amino derivatives. Their hydrolysis leads to formation of 1-hydroxy-2-aminoisopropylphosphonic acid.
