    The hydrolysis of tetrafluoro-2-hydroxyethanesulfonic acid β -sultone was studied.

    By the controlled hydrolysis of tetrafluoro-2-hydroxyethanesulfonic acid β -sultone, difluoro(fluorosulfonyl) acetic acid was obtained.

    Various derivatives of difluoro(fluorosulfonyl)acetic acid were prepared.
