Abstract

A complete calculation is presented for the vibrational spectrum for these complexes, together with an interpretation; zeroth approximation was the force field for the pyridine ring and the corresponding tetrahedral ions. The self-consistent method has been used to determine the force-constant system for the complexes. A new assignment is given for the low vibration frequencies, which differs from those proposed previously from model calculations. A discussion is also given of methods of calculating the spectra of complexes containing aromatic ligands.
