Abstract
Employing a synchronously pumped, modelocked dye laser for excitation in connection with a commercial, continuously operated streak camera the solvent dependent fluorescence decaytimes of several indigo-derivatives exhibiting a low fluorescence quantum efficiency were determined with a temporal resolution of about 5 ps in order to further elucidate their energy relaxation mechanisms, which are the object of continuous controversy.
