Model for the low magnetic moment of Ba2Zn2Fe12O22 (Zn2Y)

Abstract

The experimental value of the spontaneous magnetic moment μ(0) at OK of Zn2Y is 8% lower than the theoretical one. This reduction of the moment is ascribed to a local spin reversal on octahedral 3b-sites due to a high Zn-concentration in the S-block.
