Conclusions

  1. 1.

The reaction ofβ-ketoalcohols with chlorophosphines in the absence of organic bases leads to the formation of tertiary phosphine oxides.

  2. 2.

A scheme for the reaction ofβ-ketoalcohols with chlorophosphines was proposed on the basis of the IR spectral data and the structure of the end products.
