Volt-ampere investigation of solutions of benzhydroxamic acid

Summary

  1. 1.

    A polarographic investigation of BHA showed that on a background of pH 7–11 the reduction current for BHA at E1/2=−1.8 V is proportional to the concentration.

  2. 2.

    Volt-ampere curves were obtained for the oxidation of BHA on platinum and graphite microelectrodes and the relationship of E1/2 and Eoxid to pH was established. The diffusion current was proportional to the concentration over a wide pH range.
