Effects of ultrasonic vibrations on the sintering of metal-powder materials

Conclusions

The results are presented of an investigation into the sintering of copper-powder compacts under the influence of ultrasonic vibrations. Specimens were sintered at temperatures of 600–900°C, the duration of application of ultrasonic vibrations being 1–5 min. The mechanical properties of specimens sintered in this manner were found to be higher than those of specimens sintered by the conventional technique.
