Conclusions
Conditions were found for oxidation of the 3-acetate of 5α-bromoandrostan-3Β,6Β-diol-17-one with lead tetraacetate from which the pure acetate of 5α-bromo-6Β,19-oxidoandrostan-3Β-ol-17-one could be obtained in 87–89 % yield. It was shown that the technical product obtained under these conditions can be used without purification for further transformations.
