Summary
- 1.
The following conditions are recommended for carrying out the copolymerization of propylene with butylenes: temperature 200°C (range 195–205°C), pressure 50 atm, space velocity 2 h−1, propylene to butylenes ratio 1 ∶ 1–1.3 ∶ 1 (molar) or 0.8 ∶ 1–1 ∶ 1(wt.), total content of unsaturated hydrocarbons in the feedstock 30–35% by weight.
- 2.
Under the indicated conditions the conversion of unsaturated hydrocarbons is 80–85% by weight.
- 3.
The yield of the heptene fraction equaled 17.8% based on the original unsaturated hydrocarbons, and the octene and nonene fractions 17.8 and 10.3% by weight, respectively.
- 4.
The heptene fraction contains about 90% monoolefins and has a bromine number of 204.
