Polymerization of 2-chloropentaborane using aluminum chloride

Abstract

2-Chloropentaborane polymerized when it was heated in the presence of catalytic amounts of aluminum chloride. The polymer contained large amounts of chlorine and the volatile condensation product was primarily hydrogen.
