Chemical evolution of the intracluster gas

Abstract

Recent X-ray observations have shown that intracluster medium has non-primordial composition. Iron lines have been detected. We present preliminary results on modelling of the chemical evolution of the intracluster medium in galaxy clusters. We consider in detail the galactic winds driven by supernovae, taking into account the binding energy of the galactic gas. We try to explain the metallicity gradient observed in the Perseus cluster from morphological segregation of galaxies in the inner part of the cluster.
