Biologische Charakterisierung des Dermonekrotoxins aus Staphylococcus aureus

Biological characterization of staph. aureus-dermonecrotoxin

Summary

The biological characterization of dermonecrotoxin is reported. The dermonecrotoxin-unit is defined. Both by immunelectrophoresis and by agargeldiffusion only one precipitation-line could be identified. In respect to the toxinactivity the dermonecrotoxin showedβ-hemolytic reactions. Patch testing in humans was negativ. The question to what extent dermonecrotoxin,α-hemolysin and leucocidal activity are identical is discussed. According to the information available at present dermonecrotoxin can be considered as a separate toxin, which is in contrast to the unitarian concept.
