Complexometric determination of 100 ng to 160 μg of calcium by means of a rapid automatic titrator

Summary

A complexometric titration of calcium with EGTA is described. Calcein is used as an indicator and the endpoint is detected by means of a spectrophotometer. A very fast titrator is described which titrates 0.1 to 160 μg of calcium. About 20 titrations are performed within one titration solution, each in 30 sec. Of many compounds investigated only Ba2+, Sr2+ and biological materials gave severe interference.

Zusammenfassung

Als Titrationsmittel dient ÄGTA, Calcein wird als Indicator angewandt. Das Ende der Titration wird mittels eines Spektrophotometers bestimmt. Ein sehr schneller Titrator wird beschrieben, der die Titration von 0,1 bis 160 μg Calcium erlaubt. Ungefähr 20 Titrationen werden in einer Titrationslösung ausgeführt, jede in 30 sec. Von vielen untersuchten Substanzen geben nur Ba(II), Sr(II) und biologische Materialien größere Fehler.
