Sesquiterpene lactones ofLigularia macrophylla andL. thomsonii

Summary

From the roots ofLigularia macrophylla D. C. Prodr. we have isolated a new sesquiterpene lactone ligolide with the composition C16H22O4, for which the structure of 10β-hydroxy-6β-methoxyeremophilan-7-olide is proposed. From the same plant and fromL. thomsonii (Clark) Pojark. we have isolated and identified furoeremophilan-14β, 6α-olide, β-sitosterol, and hydrocarbons with the compositions C11H18 and C11H36.
