Properties of organosilicon-furan composite materials

Abstract

We synthesized numerous organosilicon-furan composites based on KO-921 organosilicon varnish and difurfuralacetone and studied the experimental dependences of the impact strength, water, chemical, and heat resistance of these composite materials on their chemical composition. It is shown that the introduction of furan modifiers significantly increases the chemical resistance of the organosilicon matrix within the range of effective concentrations and does not affect their impact strength and heat resistance.
