Structural transformations of poly-p-phenylene-1,3,4-oxadiazole during the process of fibre preparation

Conclusions

Three structural modifications of poly-p-phenylene-1,3,4-oxadiazole have been found: a POD-H2SO4 crystal-solvate of equimolar composition, and the β- and α-forms.

Conditions have been described for obtaining the variations structural modifications of POD under all regimes of fibre spinning.

An interconnection between structure and deformation properties of spun, model, and finished POD fibres has been established.
