Conversion of 5-hydroxy to 5-amino and 5-alkoxypyrazolidines

Abstract

1-Acyl-5-hydroxypyrazolidines readily exchange their hydroxyl group when treated with primary amines or alcohols to form the corresponding 5-amino or 5-alkoxypyrazolidines. An acid catalyst is needed for the preparaton of the 5-alkoxypyrazolidines.
