Determination of the pH-value in acidic soil by means of the ethyl red spectrophotometric method

Summary

The indicator ethyl red has been employed for the determination of the pH-value of acidic soil solutions. The measurement was performed by spectrophotometry at 550 nm against a pH-standard solution. For pH-values between 5.3 and 6.8 standard deviations between 0 and 0.07 were found.

Zusammenfassung

Zur Messung des pH-Wertes in sauren Bodenlösungen wurde der Indicator Ethylrot verwendet. Die Messung wurde spektralphotometrisch bei 550 nm gegen eine pH-Standardlösung durchgeführt. Bei pH-Werten von 5,3 bis 6,8 lag die Standardabweichung zwischen 0 und 0,07.
