Model experiments on interface reactions at n-CuInSe2 in ultra-high vacuum


For a detailed understanding of the formation conditions of a heterojunction observed at the n-CuInSe2-polyiodide electrolyte contact, model experiments in the UHV were performed: Adsorption of H2O and Cl2 on vacuum cleaved n-CuInSe2 single crystals at 80 K. The results show that H2O adsorbs undissociatedly and reversibly; Cl2 dissociates forming Cl and Cu2+ on the surface.
