Die Oberflächenstruktur des normalen, präcaneerösen und carcinomatösen Stimm-bandepithels im Rasterelektronen-Mikroskop
The structure of the surface of normal, precancerous and cancerous epithelium of human vocal cords investigated in scanning electronmicroscopy
Intraoperatively excised mucosa of human vocal cords with precancerous and cancerous alterations were investigated. It could be found, that the regular, almost hexagonal surface pattern of the normal epithelium is replaced by a pronounced irregularity in the carcinoma in situ. The squamous cell carcinoma, finally, is showing a complete desintegration of collformation with some horn pearls at its surface.
In addition, the carcinoma could be found to be surrounded by a strip of roughened, loosened and not sharply bordered epithelium (so-called “pericarcinomatous epithelium”).
