Abstract

Nano-crystalline zirconia particles, prepared by laser evaporation, were analyzed by electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The volume part of particles of the tetragonal modification comes up to 90%, although the sizes of the majority of the particles lie significantly above the equilibrium size of the transformation tetragonal → monoclinic. First interpretations are given.
