Burma's Insein Prison: punishment and oppression

Abstract

Dissent in Burma has been brutally suppressed, and imprisonment in Insein Prison, located near the capital, Rangoon, has been the fate for many activists. There, a system of mistreatment and corruption brutalizes criminal and political detainees alike.
