Abstract
Presented are the quantitative estimates of the contribution of satellite data to the creation of reliable and accurate forecasts of convective events. Estimates are obtained by means of comparing the skill scores, reliability, and accuracy of forecasts of separate local and hardly predictable convective weather phenomena taking and not taking account of the satellite information.
