Abstract

This article proposes calculating a cylindrical linear electric motor (CLEM) by the finite element method. The use of an electric drive on the basis of the CLEM allows one to build a submersible, electric pump unit. For this, the secondary element is connected with the pump plunger. The unit is lowered into a well in the oil extraction zone. The three-phase winding of the CLEM inductor is connected to the voltage source by means of a flat reinforced cable. An electronic commutator located at the surface near the wellhead is used as the power source. With the use of an electronic commutator, the supply voltage frequency is regulated and the motor reversal is implemented so that its secondary element can perform reciprocating motion. The operating characteristics of the cylindrical linear electronic motor obtained from calculations for an idealized model of the motor in the cylindrical coordinate system by the finite element method are presented. These calculations were performed with the use of the ANSYS Maxwell program. The CLEM operating characteristics were calculated for different supply voltage frequencies. Calculated values of the pulling force are compared with the experimental values. Calculations in the ANSYS Maxwell program yield highly accurate pulling force values. It is shown that an increase in the supply voltage frequency leads to an increase in the motor efficiency coefficient.
