Abstract

The crystalline and porous structure of pitch coke, petroleum coke, and shale coke for use as filler in the production of carbon materials is considered. Information is presented regarding the influence of the structure on the properties of the coke and the materials in which it is used as filler. The change in structure and properties of the coke on heat treatment is determined, over a broad temperature range.
