Abstract

Abstract—Results of long term investigations of the Naftusya type medicinal mineral water from the Zbruchanske deposit dealing with variations of its the main indicator (organic carbon content) under conditions of its storage in glass and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle are presented. It has been found out that the storage of mineral water in PET containers results in intense decomposition of medicinal organic substances in water and only 6 months later the organic carbon concentration drops below the specified norm. The mineral water preserves its medicinal properties for up to one year if it is stored in glass bottles.
