Abstract

The paper has investigated the impact of the nature and concentration of desorbing reagents NH4Cl, (NH4)2Ox, NH4H2Cit, (NH4)2HCit and FeCl3 on washing of cesium ions from model clayey montmorillonite humic acids and montmorillonite iron (III) hydroxide systems. By their desorbing abili ty 0.1 M solutions of ammonium salts are arranged in the series: NH4Cl < NH4H2Cit < (NH4)2Ox < (NH4)2HCit. Also rather effective are 0.01 M solutions of FeCl3 in which along with autodesorption by ions Fe3+, FeOH2+ and Fe(OH)2 + the desorption process also involves H+ (pH 2.3) ions.
