Ultrashort pulses in a Bragg medium with carbon nanotubes

Abstract

Relying upon the solution to the collisionless Boltzmann equation for conduction electrons in semiconducting carbon nanotubes, an effective equation for the dynamics of ultrashort light pulses is derived for carbon nanotubes placed in a medium with a spatially modulated refractive index. The effect of pulse delay relative to the homogeneous medium is predicted.
