Chromatographic behavior of anions on polyelectrolyte sorbents based on silicagel

Abstract

Polyelectrolyte anion exchangers based on commercially available nonsulfonated silicagels Silasorb 600 and Kromasil with modification of the latter by quaternized poly(4-vinylpyridine) have been proposed. Sorbents based on Kromasil allow simultaneous determination of 10 anions (CH3COO, HCOO, BrO 3 , Cl, NO 2 , NO 3 , I, SCN, ClO 4 , SO 2−4 ) for 20 min and show high efficiency (up to 30000 tp/m) for NO 3 in a variant of single-column ion chromatography with indirect spectrophotometric detection upon elution by the solutions of potassium hydrogen phthalate.
