Abstract
The seasonal variability of hydrometeorological and hydrodynamic regimes has been studied for many years; on their basis the distribution of the resource potentials of wave energy by seasons of the year on the coast of the Caspian Sea of Turkmenistan was calculated. Within the framework of mathematical modeling of the hydrodynamic process of mixed sea waves, the average value of the resource energy potential of waves is determined, which varies from 0.88 ×104 to 36.89 × 104 kW/m. The average distribution of the energy potential of waves by the seasons of the year was estimated: from October to February, it increases from 1.02 × 104 to 1.23 × 104 kW/m; from March to September, it decreases from 0.87 × 104 to 0.41 × 104 kW/m. Statistical analysis confirms the standard deviation of the energy potential of wave energy from wind speed and from sea water temperature, which varies from 0.39 to 4.52 and from 0.28 to 9.47, respectively. Evidence-based studies confirm the priority and prospects for the use of wave energy resources on the coast of the Caspian Sea of Turkmenistan.
