Changes in the population structure of Homogyne alpina (L.) Cass. (Asteraceae) on Carpathian subalpine meadows during the demutation of plant communities

Contemporary Problems of Ecology Aims and scope

Abstract

The results of long-term monitoring (1974–2013) of a model population of Homogyne alpina (L.) Cass. (Asteraceae) during mutational changes on the Carpathian subalpine meadows have been summarized. Patterns of structural transformation and self-regulation principles of this population have been determined. The special role of micropopulations in the formation of plant generations and the preservation of the heterogeneity of population elements is determined.
