Abstract

Nitrogen accumulation in tissues of submerged aquatic vegetation with respect to the gradient of biogenic impact is studied in the system of the Bol’shoi Kisegach-Malyi Terenkul’-Tabankul’ lakes (Southern Urals). Nitrogen accumulation depends on the competitive interaction of vegetation with phytoplankton; species specificity for nitrogen accumulation; the content, stoichiometric ratio, and dynamic of input of biogenic substances; and oxygen and temperature regimes.
