Seasonal changes of the manganese content in the Amur River at different hydrological conditions

  • Published:
Russian Journal of Pacific Geology Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

The seasonal dynamics of manganese concentrations is considered along the transverse profile of the Amur River from the town of Blagoveshchensk to the influence zone of the Songhua River runoff (China). Data are used from 2012 and 2013, which differed in water level. The role of particulate matter and weakly mineralizable organic compounds in manganese migration during the extreme flood in summer 2013 is discussed and the correlations between water discharges, particulate amount, and the contents of manganese and organic matter are analyzed.
