Numerical simulation of the beam loading effect at the LUE-200 accelerator

Abstract

Dynamics of the electron beam for traveling wave S-band of the LUE-200 linac has been studied by numerical simulation to assess the impact of beam loading on beam characteristics such as capturing coefficient, mean energy, output spectrum, etc. Based on the results of simulations, recommendations to improve the beam parameters and decrease the effect of beam loading on the accelerating structure are proposed.
