Abstract
Based on the latest data, the article presents an overview of estimates of the impact of global climate change on public health. A general description of approaches to the adaptation of the population under climate change has been given. The international experience in developing state strategies for adapting and protecting the population from the negative effects of climate change, including the development of the health care system, has been considered. The experience of adaptation of the population of Russian megacities to heat waves has been described. Conclusions and recommendations for Russia have been presented.
