Abstract
Compositions of a catalyst and a chemisorbent for effective purification of oxygen-containing effluent gases in production of adipic acid to remove N2O, NO, and NO2 were developed. Their use enables catalytic decomposition of N2O as the prevalent component at temperatures of up to 500°C and chemisorption purification to remove microimpurities of NO and NO2 at 20°C and in excess amount of oxygen. The optimization of the catalyst and chemisorbent compositions made it possible to diminish the content of the expensive ruthenium and cerium to 4.5 and 4.2 wt %, respectively, with the developed service characteristics preserved.
