Abstract

The reactions of poly(benzoquinone-1,4-diimine-N,N′-diyl-1,4-phenylene) and N,N′-di-(4-aminophenyl)benzoquinone-1,4-diimine with sulfuric acid proceeded as 1,4-addition of sulfuric acid and water to quinonediimine groups. Relative rates of these reactions depend on concentration of sulfuric acid. Electrical conductivities of both synthesized and doped with acids compounds were determined. Maximum value of conductivity 10–7 S/cm for doped polymers was achieved in case of doping level approximately 30%.
