Abstract
Methods of preparation (in a V-shaped mixer and by ball milling) of Al + 50 wt % B and Al + 50 wt % B4C powder mixtures are compared with regard to the boron (boron carbide) content in coatings made of these mixtures by cold spraying. It was shown that the boron and/or boron-carbide contents in the coatings have close values, irrespective of the preparation method, which is confirmed by X‑ray diffraction analysis and visual processing of coating cross-section images.
