Dibaryon Resonances and Three-Body Forces in Large-Angle pd Elastic Scattering at Intermediate Energies

Abstract

A new model for \(pd\) elastic large-angle scattering based on the intermediate dibaryon resonance production is proposed. Preliminary calculation results for the observables in \(pd\) backward scattering based on a simple model including one-nucleon exchange and the intermediate \(N + \Delta \) near-threshold state \({{\mathcal{D}}_{{12}}}(2150)\) are presented. A sizeable contribution of the \({{\mathcal{D}}_{{12}}}(2150)\) dibaryon to the \(pd\) elastic backward scattering is shown in the energy range \(0.3 < {{T}_{{\text{p}}}} < 1\) GeV, where the most severe discrepancies between the conventional theoretical approaches and experimental data occur.
