Abstract

A new compound CuNaB3O6 · 0.842H2O was grown for the first time. Its crystal structure, magnetic susceptibility, and magnetic resonance properties are presented. It was proposed that CuNaB3O6 · 0.842H2O is a spin-Peierls magnet with the transition temperature T SP ∼ 128 K and a ladder spin structure. The possibility of a structural phase transition at T < T SP is predicted.
