Role of nonlinear interactions in third-order acoustic tomography

Abstract

In order to study the practical possibilities of acoustic nonlinear tomography, the paper describes wave generation processes caused by purely third-order nonlinear interaction and second-order double interaction. The occurring nonlinear secondary sources and nonlinear scattered fields are classified based on the character of their origin.
