Validating a Computational Model of Target Sputtering in a Miniature Linear Accelerator

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics Aims and scope

Abstract

Results are presented from an experimental study and numerical modeling of the distribution of an ion beam’s current on the target of a collapsible miniature linear accelerator. Results from experiments and modeling are compared. It is shown that the computational model allows estimates of the effect an ion beam has on the sputtering of a target in a miniature linear accelerator.
