Optical-Model Analysis of the Elastic Scattering of Protons on a 7Li Nucleus, Including the Resonant Contribution

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics Aims and scope

Abstract

An optical-model analysis is performed for experimental data on the elastic scattering of protons on a 7Li nucleus in the 0.05–200 MeV range of energies. All available experimental data on the differential cross sections of elastic scattering are analyzed along with data on the polarization and total cross sections of the 7Li + p reaction. The OptModel program code with energy-dependent parameters of the optical potential is used with allowance for the resonance component of elastic scattering. Violation of the scattering matrix unitarity (the sum of the optical-model and resonance components) is observed at separate energy points and is no higher than 18%.
