Abstract
The study investigates the physicochemical properties (e.g., density, viscosity, and the content of components boiling below 200°C) and the hydrocarbon composition of crude oils from twenty one oil fields of Kaliningrad oblast confined to the Curonian oil-and-gas district. The geochemical analysis showed that crude oils located in the east of the region (primarily, within the Druzhba salient and the Gorino step) have biodegraded. This is evidenced by a rise in their density and viscosity.
