Abstract
We consider the problem of obtaining the observed galaxy rotation curves using only luminous matter as a source of gravity. The basic idea is that any star belonging to a galaxy possesses both translational and rotational motion. On the basis of this idea, we introduce 7D space-time in which the galaxy rotation equation corresponds to the observations. As a key proof of the correctness of the suggested model, we use a theoretical justification of Skumanich’s empirical law. The main advantage of the new model is an explanation of galaxy rotation curves without dark matter.
