Coulomb—Nuclear Interference: The Latest Modification

Abstract

A new, mathematically correct, method is proposed for taking into account Coulomb-nuclear interference in the differential cross section for elastic pp scattering without introducing intermediate IR regularization (“photon mass”). This method potentially leads to other (compared with the formula used in the literature) values of the conceptually important parameter Re TN(s, 0)/Im TN(s, 0).
